O'Reilly again refers to the, quote, "elite media". I recently retired after 45 years in broadcast journalism, working for both networks and local stations around the country. I think I am well educated and fairly smart and knowledgeable but I'll be damned if I have a clue what is meant by "elite media."

How are we elite? In my 45 years, I was not treatly like royalty or anything special. A few people did ask for autographs but not like they go after movie stars. I never had paparazzi following me and people seldom killed themselves trying to get to me to assk my opinion on various things.

I never got hotel or restaurant freebees. I paid my way everywhere I went regardless if the trip was work or pleasure. In short, I paid my way.

Now you take someone like OReilly, or Limbaugh or Hannity, who always bash the so-called "Elite Media", are they not the real elite media. Arent they the ones who think they know it all and are never wrong? Arent they the ones who look down their fat noses at everybody else and believe that they are above the law? Are they not the ones who make the outrageous statements and never back them up with facts that are not twisted out of shape. Do they not make mistake after mistake, exaggeration after exaggeration and when found out and challenged....cry how they are mistreated by the "elite media"?

In my 45 years, I have interviewed President, British Royalty, Seanators, Congressmen, Mayors, Governors, and a whole menu of celebrities and never considered my self to be special. I had a job and I did it.

So, again I ask.......WHAT THE HELL DOES ELITE MEDIA MEAN??
