The Tiger of the Senate, he was only one of two senators who had the guts to stand up and vote against the Gulf of Tonken resolution in 1964. I love Pete, and he's my Congressman too.

I would support his running for the Senate whole heartedly. And if he wins, he's always still welcome to come back and push the manure gathering wheel barrel and shovel at the end of the annual Eugene Celebration Parade, just as he has always done. ;-D

Morse's shoes are big. He ran for the presidency in fact in 1960 during the primary season. The people I know here who knew him and his family have always called him THE senator. We sure could use more of his stature. It would be nice to see Pete earn a simular statue of him to be put next to Morse's new statue at the Lane County Courthouse down at 8th St. and Oak in Eugene.
