""Later that year Wisner established Mockingbird, a program to influence the domestic American media. Wisner recruited Philip Graham (Washington Post) to run the project within the industry. In 1951 Allen W. Dulles persuaded Cord Meyer to join the CIA. According to Deborah Davis, Meyer became Mockingbird's "principal operative".

One of the most important journalists under the control of Operation Mockingbird was Joseph Alsop, whose articles appeared in over 300 different newspapers. Other journalists willing to promote the views of the CIA included Stewart Alsop (New York Herald Tribune), Ben Bradlee (Newsweek), James Reston (New York Times), Charles Douglas Jackson (Time Magazine), Walter Pincus (Washington Post), William C. Baggs (Miami News), Herb Gold (Miami News) and Charles Bartlett (Chattanooga Times). According to Nina Burleigh (A Very Private Woman) these journalists sometimes wrote articles that were commissioned by Frank Wisner. The CIA also provided them with classified information to help them with their work.""

As a domestic operation it is illegal. And funding such an illegal oeration without Congressional oversight...is unconstitutional.

It is with great anticipation that I read of the Financial Time's article yesterday stating that Fitzgerald's investigation is looking into abuse of intelligence. That was one of the impeachment articles brought against Richard Nixon during Watergate. Hopefully Fitzgerald will not limit his investigation unnecessarily. The whole Judy Miller involvment raises the bar.

All Americans should be praying for a truly just and THOROUGH investigation. Our form of government, a democracy, hinges upon it. "Oh Lord my God, Is there no help for the poor son of the widow ?" The cavalry needs to be called out for this one !
