49. Here's my question though:
what does a chain do if there is a 'conscience law' such as the one in California? My understanding is that a store may NOT discriminate, discipine, and/or fire an pharmacist-employee for declining to fill a prescription. So, it would not be the store's fault.

Out here, I do patronize my local pharmacist, because their rule is that should an employee fail to fill a prescription, that employee must quietly pass the script to another pharmacist, arrange for another pharmacist to fill it immediately, and perhaps deliver it to the customer's home. That's probably the best that they can do in view of the law. However, my pharmacist has made it clear to me that the prescriptions WILL be filled - promptly.

My prescription IS for the birth control pill - only it is not used for birth control - I need it for medical reasons!
