No matter how shitty your life is, how crummy your job is, how stupid and uneducated you are, if they can make you feel like there is somebody stupider, uglier and more disgusting than you, you suddenly feel better. Why else would so many working and lower class whites support a political philosophy that kicks them in the nuts, gives their tax dollars to wealthy people, sends their kids off to be slaughtered in some godforsaken place and leaves them to die in poverty with no social safety net or health insurance. "I might be the lowest life form on the face of the earth but by god I'm better than them (fill in name of minority here)!!"
