20. The best thing about America is its innate ability to survive
whatever calamity that has come our way. I think that it is our collective mindset to survive the worst that is actually preventing people from looking at this president clearly.

Think about it - we have been in crisis mode since 9/11/01. We see ourselves, collectively, as 'patriotic' survivors no matter what your political belief. He has just very effectively tapped into that collective mindset and is using it to control everything. Its in his best interest to keep us in crisis mode.

Problem is - the Dem Leadership is waiting for a breather to insert their views. It ain't gonna happen. The RW PLAN is to keep us off balance so they get to have their way in just about every decision they have ever dreamed of making. I would not be surprised that if Katrina hadn't happened, we would have had 'some excuse' for being at war with Iran or Venezuala or North Korea or... I don't think it matters much to them what the crisis is - just so there is one.
