20. Emotional dysfunction acted out through politics
They fancy themselves rugged individualists whereas at best they are members of a corrupt club, and could not survive a week in the life of the average poor American. They are wimps, brave only when someone else's life is on the line. They are "They who lead from behind." They may talk a lot about God but the God they really workship is the Free Market, to which they attribute all manner of powers normally reserved for a deity. To appease this False God, they will eagerly render human sacrifice.

They think he is so great because he is the High Priest of the Modern Moloch and they are his followers.

They are, really, emotionally dysfunctional ... as indeed, most are, to one degree or another. But they choose to act out in the realm of politics, without regard to the public good or the consequences of their actions, which are based on selfishness. "Greed is good", these alleged Christians tell us ... yet the Bible and all other holy books advise that greed is a deadly sin, and they are correct. It is greed, for example, that motivates and justifies the rape unto death of the natural world.

Truth be told, Grover Norquist is as much a traitor to the American people as the Walker brothers. Like the Walkers, Grover is quite willing to sell out America to the highest bidder. That, you see, is why government must needs be weakened ... so the people and the land are more readily sold.

What is exciting about these times, to me, is that the ugliness, the brutality, the horrible anti-Christianity of neo-conservatism has been laid bare for all with eyes to see it. We are far beyond the point at which intellectual dialog arguing subtle points of abstract debate have any significance. The truth is right before all our eyes.

If you believe the Big Lie today, it is because you choose to. And having made that choice, you have willingly joined the ranks of the wicked.

If the nation does not reject the neo-conservative fantasy, then it will not endure. It will fall down. And about right on schedule, for the average life span of a democracy in history is 250 years. But those who have served and choose to believe the lie best sleep lightly ... and atheists of good will need to put the pop corn on and watch the show. Whirlwinds are about to be reaped.
