70. Good question, and it deserves an answer. The thing that makes us strong
is our ability to disagree and still keep the dialog going. If we start to censor that kind of dialog, we are in trouble. If we focus more on our image than on honest dialog, then we are on a slippery slope. It is in this crucible that ideas can get testes, examined, challenged, criticized (with remarkable decorum for the most part), and developed into usable plans for action. I have seen other organizations get to a certain level of power and start to come under fire. It was inevitable that this would also happen to DU.If they really want to tarnish our image in the mainstream media, I has no doubt that they will find...or plant..evidence! Look at what they did to Max Cleland! If they can make a triple amputee look like a terrorist, then I am sure they can smear us. Do we fight this with attracting our own or by standing up to those who make distorted and false claims. We should be writing LTTE's to the NYT to chastise them for there distortions and question them about their coverage and stay on their case like stink on shit.
