Overview

This just in: The Associated Press (AP) is reporting tonight and every night wherever news is breaking. AP is one of the world's largest newsgathering organizations, with about 240 news bureaus serving more than 120 countries. It provides news, photos, graphics, and audiovisual services that reach people daily through print, radio, television, and the Web. In addition to traditional news services, it operates an international television division (AP Television News), photo archives, and a continuous online news service (The WIRE). It also offers advertising management and distribution services. The not-for-profit cooperative was founded in 1848 and is owned by 1,700 member newspapers.
