If I'd had a crystal ball I would have tried to do something about the situation, but at the time it seemed like a good chance to make a protest vote that was safe. (Who in heck would vote for ** when it was clear that English wasn't even his first language?!)
But we're here now. And we have a long hard fight ahead of us. And we have to take anyone and everyone who is willing to join us in the fight that we can. Even if they don't seem like they belong here.
