man, the navy has changed BIG TIME from when I was in ... mid to late 70s.

My son has been gone for almost a full year and they have not yet allowed him any leave whatsoever. He went through a thing with them when he was between schools during the holidays where when he would bring his leave chit to the appropriate place, the ass-hats working there ... po 2s and 3s (like me when I got out) played a stupid game with him where they would not accept his chit because this blank or that blank was "wrong". He would then have to start over from scratch and when he returned, they would be gone. He is enough of a boot-camp that he wasn't sure what to do about it.
