It has been Apple's strategy ever since the buy-out.

I personally think it's too little too late. They've been betamaxed a long time ago. They'd do better to solidify their current market segment (multi-media) and wait for the new chip revolution to differentiate themselves from the pack.

The Intel market is overcrowded as it is anyway.
