I'm glad to see the citizenship laws were changed. My perception was that children born to foreign parents in Germany were not eligible.

I definitely support free language and history courses, but they should be backed up by proficiency requirements to maintain one's legal status. Also, attempts to minimize religious influence in school - adopting perhaps a French-style ban on religious attire - could yield some results. The idea really is to replace one set of values with another, as contemporary Western European thought is most certainly not compatible with the reactionary wordlview espoused by some of the immigrant groups described in the article.
