37. There are varying degrees of "progressive"
As others have alluded to, we have a big tent and all factions are important. For me, the far left Liberals are the most important, as they are the ones that actually push the hardest for change (real progress). The Radicals who reject the status quo have historically brought about the most important changes in our history: all major movements from abolitionists, suffragettes, civil rights leaders, Peace activists, Disability Rights activists, environmental activists, to women's right to choose & Gay Rights activists.

I'm comfortable with more moderate Democrats as long as they don't push too far right so that we compromise our core values as Democrats. They do help to balance us out a bit. (I did support Kerry even though, he was weak on Gay marriage and helping those in poverty).

I don't expect to agree 100% on every issue with every Democrat or candidate. I also appreciate the discussions here, even when they are heated. Open dialogue is important. Those who seek 100% approval on everything position they hold, are out of reality. Wont happen.

Everyone has a right to promote their beliefs. As Democrats, we should respect that and welcome the diversity.
