I see a few are characterizing this as a puff piece. Now, I would be very concerned if Time were doing a puff piece on Ms. Coulter.
Is the piece at all critical of her? The intro to the article (which is all I can see without paying for it) tries to put a human face on her, which is OK. I know it's hard to believe sometimes, but she is human.
However, she is the worst example of the bastardized discourse prevalent in the mainstream media. She offers nothing of value to any discussion on civic affairs. Rather than encase facts in a logical argument, she encases lies and half-truths in a web of invective. Her writing is like hardcore pornography: its value is in its ability to titillate or shock, but has nothing worthwhile for her audience, either those who respond favorably or with hostility.
On top of that, she is an extremely poor stylist who couldn't develop a theme to save her life. Regardless of point of view, her prose is some of the most atrocious I've ever seen in print.
If there is nothing of this kind of criticism of Ms. Coulter in this piece, then what is there of value in it? We charge the MSM with propagating conservative/right wing perspectives while marginalizing all others. Is this piece just another exhibit in our case against the corporate media?
