34. I have to disagree
People voted based on their concerns about terrorism and national security. The Dem party has an image of being weak on defense, so people held their noses and voted for Bush, because they felt that at least he was willing to be tough, even thuggish, with terrorists--and therefore they would be safer.

We need to change that--people like Dr. Dean need to improve the Dem brand in America's mind. Then we'll have a chance next time. We can't expect any one candidate to do it all single-handedly, however capable he or she may be.

The Repubs are now looting America, so maybe people will finally start waking up to that fact, and that will help us win next time, too.
