Dearest Skinner, Admins, and Mods... This has gone on for too damn long!!!

I have been meaning to post this here for a while and have been greatly remiss in not doing it sooner.

I want to thank you, all of you, for the incredible job you do in maintaining this site.

I know the flames get so high and thick that its all you may be able to see at times. However for every flamewar there is a waterfall here at DU. If GD is going through some high heat then one can usually find a pool of serenity in the Lounge. If the Lounge has gotten silly with copy cats then GD/P has big goofy dogs for the DU'er. No new LBN threads means cruising ATA and the Groups... near endless possibilities.

What this place is and the broad spectrum of people it draws in is invaluable to its thousands of regulars. Despite those that complain, whine, and seek only to further their own agendas... this place is as good as it gets. You have provided us with multiple censoring options, ample opportunity to air complaints and most importantly you all respond to almost all questions and concerns that any member may have.

DU is THE prime prog/dem/lib real estate in the lands of the Internet.

I guess what I'm trying to get across to all of you is that the work you do is not only important to thousands of individuals but that that work is actually so freaking incredibly well done considering the challenges (and I mean that in a multiple level kind of way) you face up to when you have a position of responsibility here at DU.

You don't get it and it probably would be detrimental to your work but all of you deserve a constant stream of high praise from us all and anyone that doesn't think so, can just go start and try to fairly maintain their own 60000+ member site. I could just run on and on (like my sentences!) about DU but I'll close my long winded gratitude now.
