57. This is one of those moments, when I look around me --

(and usually these moments come every time that the Republican buffoons in the U.S. House of Representatives start their childish hijinks) -- and I KNOW for certain that I am smarter, more stable, more educated and more logical than many of the people in charge of stewarding our nation and leading public opinion.

Noonan starts off her painfully ignorant diatribe with a logical fallacy (a false delimma), and never looks back -- and creates numerous additional logical fallacies, as her juvenalia cascades down the page -- in a column as poorly written as one your greenhorn college journalism student might crank out after a night of carousing, with a 9 a.m. deadline.

I am amazed -- no, I am APPAULED that this woman has both the space and the gall to present the American public with ramblings based on near-insane, superstitious, sentimental drivel, and that the country has come to a place where hundreds of these right-wing, knee-jerking whack-jobs have any ears (or eyes) pointed in their direction.

Let me blow your mind, Peggy: I wish that Schaivo be allowed to die with dignity, and I don't give a shit about whales -- I mean, in terms of the sentimentality. Of course, anyone with a BRAIN (which excludes the target audience of all right-wing propaganda) might understand the potential dangers of upsetting the ecosystem or the food chain, in which, of course, the whale is an integral actor.

This is because, Peggy, there are some of us who still think -- and have always thought in terms of reason -- rather than ideology, superstition, emotional pandering suckage, delusion, hysteria and any number of other useless rhetorical devices that culminated in this laughable column.

These people really have gone fucking nuts.
