This is about winning. It always has been. These two are selfish sociopaths who have decided that their route to salvation is to "save" their daughter from a death she desired rather than live like this.
Her wishes never mattered. They have to win because they've put all their eternal eggs into this basket. It's never had anything to do with her. It's always been about them.
