* and company have been so busy stealing everything that isn't nailed down, they've slipped a little in terms of controlling the media and public opinion polls. Apparently, the pollsters will actually do a semi-reliable measure without instructions to the contrary...and voila, we've got * tumbling. The Social Security numbers are a harbinger. He's only 35% favorable on that issue. This is the one nobody can ignore. It is the 3rd rail of American politics and it's lighting * up.

I'm sure he'll get a "bounce-let" in a couple of weeks as "management" realizes it needs to get the publicity boys in line.

It won't do any good, * is going down and down hard. Pat Buchanan was right; look for * popularity ratings in the low 40's in the not too distant future and down from there.
