16. Our angst is now in the mainstream
I caught a little of SNL this weekend. And most of the Oscars. And both shows are mainstream TV. Not edgy or counter-culture. But middle-of-the road. And both got their Bush bashing in. It's now been deemed OK to go after Bush. Finally. He can't hide behind 9-11 and "shock and awe" any longer. He's been an abysmal failure as a leader and it's time even the cowed are starting to dissent. Only the older crowd, soaked in hate-radio, will hang in there. With their fundie friends (who have no where else to go). But, Bush is losing the middle. No jobs. Huge deficit. No healthcare. Poisonous environment. And those unsettling stories leaking through about how the Bushies like to manipulate the media. Finally. Drip. Drip. Drip.
