35. I have thought for a long time
...that the Repubs have had a covert agenda to make politics look disgusting, so people would stop paying atttention to the process. For a very long time, all you ever hear about politics is how slimy it is, and how dirty politicians /politics are.....it drives people away. They didn't want to be contaminated, and they felt powerless to change anything anyway.

Of course, now votes have come down to a few hundred for governor and for president, that is changing.

But still, how many people do you know who think it is rude to discuss politics? Or who clearly aren't interested? Or who make decsions based on a few half heard fragments from CNN?
