17. Erysipelas, a cellulitis skin condition often seen on skid row
alcoholics? Often it is caused by a streptococcal bacteria. From the Merck Manual:

The infected skin becomes hot and swollen, and it may look like an orange peel (a condition called peau d'orange). In one form of cellulitis called erysipelas the edges of the infected area are raised. Small red spots (petechaiae) commonly appear; larger spots caused by bleeding in the skin (ecchymoses) rarely appear. Small fluid-filled blisters (vesicles) or large fluid-filled blisters (bullae) may appear on the enfected skin and may rupture.

It must be treated with antibiotics or could spread into the lymph nodes and that could be fatal. Another form is flesh eating disease.
