I don't think it was inappropriate for Kerry to bring a real person into the discussion. Wasn't Mary in some kind of gay rights position for Coors brewery in Colordado? So she has publicly acknowledged her sexuality. I don't think Kerry should have put words into her mouth, saying if you asked her, she would say such and such. He should have qualified it with "she might say.." or something like that. It's one thing to bring her up, it's another to put words in her mouth on a topic she's never addressed.
