While John Kerry was getting shot at in Viet Nam, GW Bush was roaming around the southern US, playing Jody and living the "High Life"! His old Daddy had enough political pull to get the Boy into the Texas Air Guard, ahead of about two hundred other applicants! The old man then had the pull to get George into flight school, ahead of lots of other guys who had scored better on their tests!

It only makes sense to me then, that if George was in trouble with drinking and drugs and couldn't pass his flight tests, or show up, the old man had the pull to get George an honorable discharge, whether George had earned it or not! The TANG higher ups(brass) had already proven, that they could be made to override standard military regulations in Bush's behalf, because Daddy was a congressman! They let George Jr get away with just quitting! If your kid Just Quits the military, the military will punish him the rest of his life with a bad discharge!

In the military service there is a little thing called "RHIP"!(rank has it's privilege) In Bush's case I guess the Congressman outranked the Commanding Officers!
