52. I'm close to tears reading your post and all the responses.
I think back to the days of the Republican Party under Teddy Roosevelt. Conservative meant conservation of the wilderness. Teddy was a progressive "trust buster." How fair they have moved away from their earlier days.

Welcome to the Democratic Party. I was ready to leave it for the Greens, but my distaste for the idiots that have hijacked the Republican Party brought me back. The speeches at the convention made me feel like I was back home again.

Thanks to the people who mentioned the importance of education. I started teaching under Ford. The best years for education where the years of Carter. Since those days I have seen the erosion of public education.

Public Education can be the great equalizer. It can also be a way to brainwash an entire nation. I see the whole trend toward standardizing education as a move to brainwash the nation. There are some states that give their teacher's their daily lesson plans. This scares me to no end. It is very similar to the way Fox gives it's reporters everything they can and can not say. I fear if we don't make a stand now, our country will have every reporter and every teacher speaking like robots for the good of the state. Scary, Scary, Scary.

I feel like hugging you all. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
