The pill keeps a woman from ovulating. The sperm does not meet an egg and no fertilization occurs. There is no conception with the pill. That is why it is called Contraception.
I could understand if the woman has a history or family history of blood clots. The pill could cause her to die the way David Blume died. (No, I don't think the pill caused his death.) The pill has been known to cause women over 35 to be more prone to blood clots in the legs which can dislodge and cause a potentially fatal pulmonary embolism. My healthy 48 year old sister-in-law almost died from this.
