for rebel status.

I am not claiming to be rebel myself, I'm a bit too lazy for that, so I'm unsure if there really is a handbook, but if there is, I'd say the first tenet is most likely:

"Let others determine you are a 'rebel'. Proclaiming yourself to be a 'rebel' precludes you from 'rebel' status and might, depending on phsyical appearance, shift you from 'potential rebel' to 'geek' immediately."

Glad you're reading, though.
