to offset the massive troop movements.
If they were indeed planing a massive build up an attack why not use this as a way to mask it and slide it over to the circular file for the media.
If there was a large comet coming our way then I don't think scientist would keep so quiet about it. Scientist tend to think for them selves and love to examine and re-examine findings. Posting observations and duplicating research is what created this whole internet
I find it very peculiar that more scientist with large observatories are not reporting sightings
