12. I did almost die for my beliefs
Edited on Mon May-31-04 07:31 PM by Solly Mack
civil rights march-carload of peckerwoods almost ran me down..but for college students from Morehouse, I believe it was..I would be dead. The gentlemen ran out into the road, nearly sacrificing themselves, to pull me to safety.

I didn't attend the event thinking this could be the day I die...but die I could have.

I believe those gentlemen reacted without thinking..I was a fellow human in danger and, without thought to their own safety, they risked their lives to save mine. I'd like to think we would all respond in like manner...and Not because we hold certain beliefs..but because we live those beliefs..

it's not that anyone wants to die for what they believe...it's more a case of others thinking you should die for what you believe. All we can do is to accept the risk....or betray everything we hold to be true.

I don't want to die to prove the strength of my convictions..but if that is what I must face, I only ask that I show the courage those gentlemen did that day.

I didn't vote in your poll. I know no one knows exactly how they would behave until the moment is upon them...the will to live is strong.
