If ordinary people like us, could see through the "ruse", surely senators and congress people who have access to ALL the info, could see through it..

I think , deep down, they knew that they had to put up with the little tyrant, and decided to just play along.. They may have bought into the idea, that it would be an easy victory, and if not, they could always say they were misled..

The "icky" part is that about 800 people are no longer among the living, thousands of Iraqis are dead, and untold damage to our country will persist for decades..

Why??

Because a BUNCH of senators did not want to take a stand...when it would have mattered..

It's especially troubling when senators who have already announced their retirement, played the game.. They could have sttod up, but except for a precious few, they did not..

When people are actually DEAD, "better late than never" does not cut it.
