along with snacks, nuts, sports drinks, and other non-perishable food stuff. Remember, most of the time they only eat MREs and the hot food is served by KBR/Halliburton. UGH!

Paper back books are also popular over there. I saw on ABC that a mother sent 200 small walkie talkes to her son's Marine company, because they needed it when they're in battle, to find out who's hurt, and other reasons. She raised the money in the restaurant where she worked. In a soldier's life, there are incidents of sheer terror in battle and adrenaline rushes, surrounded by absolute boredom the rest of the time. Don't forget the entertainment, they appreciate that.
