33. Winning is the objective. A long-term win, not a short-term one.
How do you think the conservative Republicans got to where they are today? 30 years ago, nobody would have expected a right-wing loon like Santorum to be a PA Senator. But the conservatives were patient and launched what the IRA called a "long war". Don't forget, the neocon movement came out of Goldwater's doomed bid for the White House. Just because your candidate is too "radical" to win the immediate election doesn't mean you lose in the long run. Patience, long-term grass-roots organizing and good strategy and someday someone like Kucinich will be as electable as Bush. Fuck moving to the center-- it's too far to the right. Let's focus on moving the center back to the left, it will take time but pay dividends.
