Looks like another case of Hollywood Ripoff, too.

Like Armageddon, and Deep Impact

Antz, and A Bugs Life

and Matrix and The Thirteenth Floor and Dark City.

In this case, the concept is: let's take a bunch of scary things from a whole bunch of completely different movies, and throw them into one big movie, complete with bad CGI.
