It took years and the Iran/Contra investigation to bring out the fact that they had gone behind Carters' back and negotiated with the enemy in order to embarrass and subsequently steal the election. Americans have been left with the impression of Carter as a weak man when they should have been inflamed with by the traitorous acts of the Reaganites who are still in charge.
