Towns Ask North Carolina To Repeal Anti-Gay Marriage Law
Advertisements [?]
(Chapel Hill, North Carolina) Two neighboring communities want the state of North Carolina to repeal its Defense of Marriage Act.

In Chapel Hill, which has one of the highest concentrations of universities and colleges in the US, the motion was proposed by openly gay Councilman Mark Kleinschmidt.

It would be a way for the town to say, "Hell yeah, we're about fairness, we're about equality, we're about treating people fairly," Kleinschmidt said.

"If that means stepping out and making some noise, then give me the noisemaker," he said.

SNIP

Needless to say this story caught me totally off guard! I see the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned back on, at least in North Carolina.
