36. While it's true that many groups engage in the derogation of competing
groups, I believe Democrats tend to try to be more fair toward Republicans than vice versa. Dems tend to recognize that the other side has it's own interests and we appreciate those interests although we may not agree with them. Dems may also criticize the Repubs for some of those interests and for the ways Repubs go about meeting those interests. But Dems rarely, when compared with Repubs, threaten to stifle or kill their opposition. When's the last time you heard a Dem say we should hunt or exterminate Repubs? On the other hand, a number of well-known right-wingers (and presumably Republicans) have endorsed murdering Dems and liberals. So, we may all derogate the other side but not all of us want to neutralize the other side.
