21. ok...devil's advocate
I am pretty sure I know why bush is upset...but what about this side of the issue: While it may be discriminatory, the current law in CA does prohibit gay marriage, yes? (I am not thoroughly versed in CA law but I think that is what I heard) Aren't the justices and the clerks issuing the licenses breaking the law? I know the judges performing the ceremonies are sworn to uphold the law. What would be said if something like this were going the other way? Where judges we doing something against the law that did not favor a democratic-party issue?

Just playing advocate...flame on!
