8. The CIA is probably sponsoring the Hiatian rebels
Haiti is looked at by U.S. business interests as a source of cheap labor. Because of this "natural resource", the U.S. has a vested interest in who Hiati's President is. Aristide (a liberal priest) was elected instead of the U.S. puppet Marc Bazin in a popular election. Since the Haiti's president is not who the U.S. wants AND is in our "traditinal sphere of influence", the CIA is probably trying to undermine him by sponsoring the rebels. This is why we are not sending in troops.
