| Poll question: What skills are best to have for a coming wage-slave economy? |
 |
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 03:30 PM by jokerman2004
Ok. tech is dead, or gone to China, India and Thailand. The rest of us are stuck here in Amerikaland where "Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!" means Walmart Home Depot and UPS. psycho-rant follows: We don't need no stinkin' safety nets. We don't need no stinkin' skills! Let the foreign workers come and do the work that white people won't do! Draft 'em! Send them to fight our endless wars on terror! Ok seriously, if we're going back to basics, what skill sets are going to be in demand for smart Americans who are not wealthy and must fend for themselves in our new emerging "economy"? Here's some ideas to start with, but I'd like to hear some real suggestions from people who are asking themselves the same kind of question.
| Poll result (98 votes) | | electronics | (1 votes, 1%) | Vote | | cooking | (2 votes, 2%) | Vote | | farming | (20 votes, 20%) | Vote | | carpentry | (4 votes, 4%) | Vote | | plumbing | (7 votes, 7%) | Vote | | masonry | (1 votes, 1%) | Vote | | herbs and non-medical healing | (2 votes, 2%) | Vote | | sex and personal entertainment | (19 votes, 19%) | Vote | | metal work and blacksmithing | (3 votes, 3%) | Vote | | Other | (39 votes, 40%) | Vote |
