4. Nope - Vladmir Lenin was not "the soviets"... he was one man (obviously)
Check your history, friend. One Soviet shat the very idea to which you refer, while hundreds of millions died because it was such a misconstrued idea.

The "New Soviet Man" was a Lenin idea; he'd predicted from the start that through brutal "rehabilitation" criminals and anti-communists could be "nurtured" into "new Soviet Men." By the time Stalin got ahold of it, the argument had been modified thus: the "New Soviet Man" was a device to free men "from their biological constraints." In other words in a matter of decades the message had become "yes, nature is inevitable, but with drastic actions we can provide a counterbalance to it!"

The whole idea - aside from being only espoused by about .00001% of all Soviets - was an attempt to answer the inevitability of nature by means of punishment ("nurturing").

You bring up a superb point about the last century, though:

-> Communism counterbalanced its naturalisic, anti-religious foundation nature with a program endorsing nurture; and

->Fascism (especially Nazism) counterbalanced its predeterministic, "Godly" righteousness with a program endorsing the murder of a (natural) race of people.
