As tragic as the deaths were in the Mount St. Helens eruption, if weren't for volcano monitoring many more lives would have been lost.

And when Mt. Rainier finally goes, more or less everyone west of the Cascades and East of the Olympic Penninsula will be in danger to some degree. I mean, the city of Puyallip alone will essentially be gone.

(To be clear, this is in no way making me want to leave, I love this place so much I don't care how many volcanoes there are. But I acknowledge their existence, and hope that my government would be willing to give a bit of a fucking warning if one were to erupt.)

7. This could be one of the biggest mistakes Steele has made, as if he doesn't do something to stop this movement, at the very least I could see one of Maine's Senator's switching to the Democrats, if only out of a desire for political survival.
