And one would have to reasonably assume that a person over a certain age, certainly over 70, would be at greater risk.

The fact is, we'll probably never really know what happened here. If the 75 yo lady actually struck the officer with force (i.e. not just a slap) then perhaps the taser was justified.

Otherwise, there is no way that is was, but the police get away with this sort of bullshit every damn day.
