ball lightening and swamp gas make more sense than aliens?

Which would you believe, that a civilization so technologically advanced that they can overcome what we perceive as physical impossibilities journey light years across the universe and accidentally run in front of a couple of planes like rabbits on a country road (not to mention crash in Roswell), or that some nervous pilots on nighttime recon saw a perfectly explainable natural phenomona and misunderstood it?

Nine out of ten times, I'll go for the latter. That other one out of ten, I well strongly suspect the latter yet leave room for doubt. Not sure which odds this event is yet, but I'm not on the "SEE? PROOF!" bandwagon yet, not by a long shot. I've seen too many photos of bigfoots and Nessies.
