Michele Bachmann reportedly says shed close the U.S. Embassy in Iran. The only thing is: Americans broke off diplomatic relations with the foreign country in 1980.

Jamie Novogrod, an NBC News reporter embedded with the Bachmann campaign, tweeted the GOP presidential hopefuls flub, which was made in front of an Iowa audience. Heres his post on Twitter:

Bachmann tells Waverly IA crowd that were she president, we wouldnt have an American embassy in Iran. The US broke ties w Iran in 1980.
