18. All bets are off. Romney is their strongest candidate in the General, but if Newt can keep his ego
and mouth somewhat under control for a few months he just might win the nomination. That might be a very good thing. Putting Newt at the top of the ticket could lead to a GOP disaster. His negatives among the electorate have always been high, and unlike Romney he has high implosion potential. Many swing states and districts could see a huge backlash from energized Democrats and alarmed independents.
