Or if they don't even go to that particular church. Or if they don't go to any church at all.
Regardless of personal religious belief about what God whats or requires of you (which I do understand very well), there is still a real world difference between paying taxes and donating to a church.
The point of my post was that we pay trillions in legally-required taxes without worrying as much about how government spends it as we seem to worry about a corrupt minister to whom no one was forced by secular law to donate.
I guess I just wasn't in the mood when I posted to be distracted by shiny things. Other times, maybe distractions like this from what the kleptocracy is doing to this country are welcome.
BTW, all "people of the book" are directed by the OT to tithe and also to give offerings, not only non-traditional Christians.
