Democrats pressing Rogers on bribe story

Democrats are hoping to pull another area Republican congressman into the controversy surrounding the GOP's handling of the alleged attempt to bribe Rep. Nick Smith during November's House vote on the Medicare reform bill.

Michigan Democratic Party Executive Chairman Mark Brewer on Thursday called on Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Brighton, to reveal what he knows about members of the House Republican leadership threatening to scuttle the congressional campaign of Smith's son Brad if the elder Smith didn't change his vote and support the legislation.
