Yes. Precisely the reaction that people on the right are giving.

We are making progress. Next time one of them slips, we need to point it out. And we need to do that over and over. They do not realize that the images and metaphors they use incite violence. That is because violence is engrained in their deepest psyches -- a part of their earliest childhood memories (at least for many of them).
