The sad part is that all deaths by violence are tragic. The American media has a way of keeping track that is, to put it kindly, very nationalistic and narrow minded.

May we some day realize that every life is worthwhile, that the ripple effects from each death touches family, friends, and the communities both local and global.

When will the madness end? A mother kills her babies, children shooting their schoolmates, men throwing themselves under tanks. It becomes too much to bear all this sadness.

Father, mother, why hast thou forsaken us?
